Dear Laguna Road Families,
It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new principal of Laguna Road Elementary School. Laguna Road has a remarkable reputation for a warm and welcoming school campus, dedicated staff, innovative teaching practices, and a highly supportive parent community. I am committed to continuing the legacy of educational excellence that has been set forth by exceptional leaders who have come before me. As we work together to build a world class educational experience that prepares our students for a bright future, I hope to facilitate a positive school environment that empowers our students to be thoughtful citizens committed to making an impact in their world.
My passion for education has been shaped over the past 13 years in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles. My experiences include teaching in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade, teacher on special assignment, program specialist, literacy coach, assistant principal, and principal. In addition to my experiences, I am a firm believer in modeling a growth mindset and lifelong learning. My academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in Sociology at UC Irvine, multiple-subject teaching credential at Cal State Fullerton, master’s degree in Educational Administration at Concordia University, and a doctoral degree in K-12 Leadership at the University of Southern California.
Family is also very important to me. My husband and I have been happily married for 7 years. We have a large extended family and enjoy spending quality time with them, especially our adorable nieces and nephews. Growing up, my father instilled strong moral values and always encouraged us to uphold our family motto, “In everything you do, strive to be your personal best.” In my personal and professional life, I work hard to be the best daughter, wife, sister, aunt, friend, colleague and educator that I can be and hope to inspire our students to reach their full and unique potential, persevering and overcoming any obstacle that comes their way. As parents, I know that all of you hold personal values that you instill in your children and high hopes for their future. I look forward to learning more about your family, values, and hopes in this coming year. I am confident that with your support and partnership, Laguna Road will continue to be an exceptional school for our students to learn, grow, and strive towards their full potential.
The Laguna Road staff has been diligently preparing for the start of the school year and we look forward to welcoming each and every roadrunner on the first day of school.
