What is School Site Council? The School Site Council has the ongoing responsibility to plan, monitor and review the K-6 School Based Coordinated Program. Members of the School Site Council help review and critique the Single Plan for Student Achievement, school policies, budget, and areas of school- wide effectiveness. At Laguna Road, the SSC has also been instrumental in allocating school funds to meet school goals and effect policy.
What is the purpose of the English Language Advisory Committee? Members can learn more about the programs offered to their children. They provide input to the principal and school staff of the most positive and effective strategies for teaching English Learners. They also provide input on the most effective ways to support full participation of English Learners in all school activities. ELAC also gives input on the most effective ways to ensure regular school attendance. Most importantly, it provides the opportunity to have Laguna Road representation at the district level by the attendance of elected officials at the District English Language Advisory Council (DELAC) meetings.
